Leader In Me:  Staff and students learn the 7 Habits of Effective Leaders and practice implementing these habits daily and consistently.

 

Student Lighthouse Teams:  Potrero supports an elementary student lighthouse team and a middle school lighthouse team.  These leadership teams collaborate to plan and coordinate recess and lunchtime activities that  provide positive opportunities for student interactions and cooperative play.  In addition, our student lighthouse members participate in managing playground behavior and take leadership roles in supporting the 7 Habits on our playground.

 

CGI:  Cognitive Guided Instruction:  This is a hands-on, rigorous math strategy that  supports our students in working together to solve real-world math problems.

 

STEM:  Our school will be launching our new STEM Classroom, thanks to the support of our District.  Students at all grade levels will have the opportunity to explore  and create models of machines, utilizing technology and combinations of various model components.
